Our Love Story:
Who would have thought a chance meeting in 2009 would lead to marriage? I know I didn’t! Thomas and I initially met in 2009 when I went to visit a friend in San Antonio, TX. When we were reintroduced in 2011, I didn’t remember him. Thomas proposed in front of family and friends on my birthday. It was memorable!!! However, Thomas was on orders and was set to leave just a few days after the proposal so we didn’t set a date for our upcoming nuptials.
I was still floating on cloud 9 when I attended a bridal show at Oxon Hill Manor with my cousin and her friend that was scheduled to get married a couple of months later.

Since we had not set a wedding date, I was not shopping for anything for the wedding. I was walking around the bridal show and came across Caribbean Caterers. I tried the jerk chicken (two samples, actually!) and the bread pudding. Keisha (the bride to be) tried the bread pudding. The food was delicious.
Once the date was set for our wedding I contacted Caribbean Caterers. I DID NOT contact any other company because I was set on having CARIBBEAN CATERERS!

I had my two cousins in tow and Thomas on Facetime. My cousins enjoyed the meal and we convinced Thomas to agree to sign with Caribbean Caterers.
Christina, my original point of contact was welcoming, accommodating, and had an ear to listen when I was having a meltdown about needing to change the venue. She also gave suggestions of places that would accommodate our needs.
Candace is a star. She nailed everything that she was supposed to! Every hiccup thrown her way she managed and I didn’t see her sweat.
At some point Christina left the company and in walked Candace. However, it was if she was always there. I was originally upset about the staff change but Candace wiped away all of my doubts after our first meeting. She knew every detail about our entire wedding. Candace is a star that nailed everything that she was supposed to! Every hiccup thrown her way she managed and I didn’t see her sweat.
The food was AMAAAAZ-ING! Our guests are still talking about the food and how they kept going back for seconds (and some thirds and fourths!).
Enough about the staff. Let’s talk about the FOOD and the DECOR! What’s the point of having a great office staff if the food is blah? Our menu consisted of Shrimp & Grits, Beef Patties, Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas, Grilled Fish with a Mango Salsa, Grilled Vegetables, and Coco Bread. The food was AMAAAAZ-ING! Our guests are still talking about the food and how they kept going back for seconds (and some thirds and fourths!). We served the Shrimp & Grits during the cocktail hour and it is still one of the elements that our guests talk about the most. In fact it’s only second to the photo booth!

The linen, the flatware, the way Caribbean Caterers set up our dessert table (which was added at the last minute but you wouldn’t have known because it looked as if it was always part of the plan) and the sweetheart table were more than we talked about at the Design Consultation and more than Thomas and I imagined.
Everything was PERFECT!
I call Caribbean Caterers “Disney”. People laugh and why. Do you know the feeling of smiling all day? That feeling where all the cares in the world have disappeared for a few hours. On 16 September 2017, Caribbean Caterers was our Disney! Perfect staff, perfect décor and perfect food! I could not have been happier to have had them as one of our vendor for our special day!
